Photograph Restoration FAQ
Q. Do you make any adjustments to the original photograph?
A. No. Your original photograph will be scanned so only the digital
image will be altered.
Q. How long does it take?
A. Please allow at least 1 week from the time your original
is received.
Q. How much does it cost?
A. The cost ranges between $40 to $120 depending on the complexity
of the project. I'll give you an estimate before any work is started.
Q. What will be included in your estimated price?
A. You will receive:
- One 4"x6" print on photographic paper. Larger and/or more
prints may be requested at an additional cost.
- One digital copy on CD.
Q. What if I don't want to send my priceless original?
A. You have a few options:
- If you have a good scanner, you can
scan your image at 300 dpi, save it as a JPEG (no compression),
and email it to me. Most Internet Service Providers will allow
you to email an attachment up to 5 megs, so be sure to check
the finished size before you hit the 'send' button.
- Have a photographic duplicate made of your photograph or slide.
- Take it to a Service Provider like Kinko's
and have them scan it for you, then send me the disk, or email
the scanned image to me. Many photo processing centres also offer
a scanning service.
Q. What size negative or slide can you scan?
A. I'm able to scan 35mm slides and negatives.
Q. What size photo can you scan?
A. The maximum size is 8" x 10"
Q. What shipping method do you use to send my order to me?
A. All completed orders will be sent via XpressPost.
Q. My images are too big to send by email. How do I get them
to you?
A. Email me for FTP instructions, or you can use the FREE WinZip (PC)
or Stuffit (Mac)
to contain your files. These programs will compress the file size.
Once I 'unzip' the file, your images will uncompress.
